But what truly catches my attention is the protagonist, Soraya Tollmere, a high-ranking commander who has spent her life on the front lines of a brutal war. Her character seems to embody the very essence of resilience, a quality that is all too often romanticized in fantasy novels. Yet, as I read through the synopsis, I couldn't help but wonder: what drives Soraya? Is it a desire for revenge, a need to protect her people, or something more complex?
